Let’s be honest: Summer in Malta isn’t exactly made for being outside.
Between the heat and the general feeling of melting into the pavement, most searches for things to do in Malta this time of year boil down to one request: Somewhere air-conditioned, please.
That’s exactly what a visit to The Brewhouse offers.
Alongside the usual suspects — museums, malls, the cinema — a brewery tour might not be the first indoor activity that comes to mind, but it should be. We’ve got three different Tour to Table packages, each combining a tour of The Farsons Brewery Experience with food and drink, and each built to fill a solid chunk of your afternoon in the cool.
Here’s how they compare, so you can pick the one that fits your day.
The Gastro Experience
The full deep-dive: an English-guided walk through Malta’s brewing history, followed by five dishes cooked with beer that turns your tour into dinner at The Cisk Tap rooftop bar. Best for history buffs, foodies, and anyone who wants their evening out fully sorted in one booking.
- 💰 Price: €49pp (minimum 2 people per booking)
- 🕐 Available: Tuesdays only, 7:00pm (arrive by 6:45pm for a punctual start)
- 👥 Includes: An in-person professional guided tour, a tasting tray of five 100ml Farsons beers served alongside five beer-infused dishes — think beef sliders with Cisk beer cheese sauce, Blue Label BBQ chicken wings and Cisk beer-battered prawns (vegetarian alternatives available with 24 hours’ notice), a full pint of your choice, a Cisk glass to take home, and a complimentary digital photo-souvenir from the Farsons Brandstore
Experience With Craft Beer & Food
The middle ground: Self-guided at your own pace with hand-held audio devices, then two stops for food and drink — a tasting flight at The Cisk Tap, followed by a craft beer paired with pizza or a burger at The Chapels. Best for craft beer fans or couples wanting a relaxed afternoon on a weekday.
- 💰 Price: €37pp
- 🕐 Available: Monday to Friday, after 12pm
- 👥 Includes: Self-guided tour with audio guide in 7 languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Maltese and Polish), a tasting tray of five 100ml Farsons beers at The Cisk Tap, a half pint of craft beer at The Chapels, your choice of pizza (Margherita, Quattro Formaggi or BBQ Chicken) or burger (Classic Beef or Vegan) at The Chapels, and a complimentary digital photo-souvenir from the Farsons Brandstore
The Maltese Experience
The most laid-back option, and the most local in flavour. After the self-guided audio tour through the history of Malta’s longest-running brewery, head up to The Cisk Tap for a beer tasting tray and a Maltese platter for two. Best for visitors wanting an authentic taste of Malta alongside their beer, and anyone happy to share and explore at their own pace.
- 💰 Price: €22.25pp (minimum 2 people per booking)
- 🕐 Available: Daily, 12pm–6pm (last admission 5pm)
- 👥 Includes: Self-guided tour with audio guide in 7 languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Maltese and Polish), a beer tasting flight, traditional Maltese platter for two, and a complimentary digital photo-souvenir from the Farsons Brandstore
Feeling extra? Add a plate of imqaret — Malta’s classic date fritters — served warm with a scoop of Kinnie-flavoured sorbet. For the unacquainted, Kinnie is a local bittersweet orange soft drink, launched by Farsons in 1952. Its unique aromatic, herby taste has earned it a reputation for splitting opinion – you’ll either love it or hate it.
Which One Is For You?
It all depends on what you’re after.
If you want the full story told to you by a professional tour guide, book the Gastro Experience. If you’re after a relaxed self-guided visit with a hearty meal and freshly brewed craft beer, go for the Craft Beer package. And if you just want a chilled afternoon with local flavours and a flexible schedule, the Maltese package has you covered.
All three also make a genuinely good gift — every Tour to Table experience is redeemable through a Farsons Brewery Experience gift voucher, so if you know someone who needs an excuse to escape the heat too, that’s an easy one to tick off your list.
